PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT

One Week Before Treatment

  1. Avoid Certain Skincare Products:

    • Discontinue the use of retinoids (e.g., Retin-A, Tretinoin), alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), benzoyl peroxide, or any exfoliating products.

    • Stop using any products containing hydroquinone or other bleaching agents.

  2. No Aggressive Treatments:

    • Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or other facial treatments for at least 7 days before your HydraFacial.

Three Days Before Treatment

  1. Minimize Sun Exposure:

    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning (both natural and artificial) to prevent skin irritation.

    • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily.

  2. No Hair Removal:

    • Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area.

  3. Avoid Irritants:

    • Refrain from using harsh scrubs or abrasive cleansers on the face.

Day of Treatment

  1. Clean Skin:

    • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid applying moisturizers, sunscreen, or any skincare products.

  2. Stay Hydrated:

    • Drink plenty of water to help keep your skin hydrated, which will optimize the treatment results.

  3. Inform Your Provider:

    • Let us know if you:

      • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.

      • Have any skin conditions, allergies, or recent infections.

      • Are taking medications like isotretinoin (Accutane), as it may require postponing your treatment.

Additional Notes

  • If you are receiving Botox, dermal fillers, or other injectable treatments, ensure your HydraFacial is scheduled either before or at least 1-2 weeks after those procedures.

  • Schedule your treatment at least 1-2 weeks before any special event to allow your skin to fully glow and any potential sensitivity to subside.

CARING FOR YOURSELF POST-PROCEDURE

Immediately After Treatment

  1. Redness and Sensitivity:

    • Mild redness or a feeling of tightness may occur but should resolve within a few hours.

    • Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treated area to prevent irritation.

  2. Hydration:

    • Apply a hydrating moisturizer as recommended by your provider to keep your skin nourished.

First 24-48 Hours

  1. Avoid Makeup:

    • Refrain from applying makeup or heavy skincare products for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to breathe.

  2. No Exfoliation:

    • Do not use exfoliating products, retinoids, or harsh cleansers on the treated area.

  3. Protect Your Skin:

    • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from UV damage, as it will be more sensitive after treatment.

    • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds.

First Week After Treatment

  1. Gentle Skincare Routine:

    • Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Avoid products with active ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, or benzoyl peroxide until your provider advises it’s safe to resume.

  2. Stay Hydrated:

    • Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and enhance your results.

  3. Avoid Heat and Sweat:

    • Avoid hot showers, saunas, or intense exercise for 48 hours post-treatment to reduce the risk of irritation.

Long-Term Care

  1. Maintain Results:

    • Follow a consistent skincare routine and consider scheduling regular HydraFacial treatments (typically every 4-6 weeks) to maintain glowing skin.

  2. Sun Protection:

    • Continue using sunscreen daily to protect your skin from UV damage and prolong your results.
