PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT AND CARING FOR YOURSELF POST-PROCEDURE

THE NUDE LASER FACIAL BY MOXI®

Laser Resurfacing

PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT

Two Weeks Before Treatment

  1. Avoid Sun Exposure:

    • Protect your skin from the sun by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily.

    • Avoid tanning beds, sunbathing, or any artificial tanning products.

  2. Stop Certain Products:

    • Discontinue the use of retinoids (e.g., Retin-A, Tretinoin), alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), or other exfoliating agents.

    • Avoid skin-lightening products containing hydroquinone or similar ingredients.

One Week Before Treatment

  1. No Other Treatments:

    • Do not schedule chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments within 7 days of your MOXI session.

  2. Stop Using Blood-Thinning Agents (if approved by your healthcare provider):

    • Avoid medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, and supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, or garlic, which may increase the risk of bruising.

  3. Avoid Skin Irritants:

    • Stop using harsh products with strong fragrances, alcohol, or dyes on the treatment area.

Two Days Before Treatment

  1. No Hair Removal:

    • Avoid waxing, threading, or the use of depilatory creams on the treatment area.

  2. Shave if Directed:

    • If instructed by your provider, gently shave the treatment area 24-48 hours before your appointment.

CARING FOR YOURSELF POST-PROCEDURE

Immediately After Treatment

  1. Redness and Sensitivity:

    • It’s normal to experience redness, warmth, and mild swelling for 1-3 days. These sensations may feel similar to a mild sunburn. Use a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth to soothe the skin if needed.

  2. Gentle Cleansing:

    • Wash the treated area with lukewarm water and a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. Avoid hot water and scrubbing. Pat dry with a clean, soft towel.

  3. Moisturize:

    • Apply a hydrating, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and to aid healing. Reapply as needed throughout the day.

First 48 Hours

  1. Avoid Makeup:

    • Refrain from using makeup or heavy skincare products for at least 24-48 hours or until redness subsides.

  2. No Exfoliation:

    • Avoid exfoliating products or harsh scrubbing on the treated area. Allow the skin to heal naturally.

  3. Hydration and Nutrition:

    • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet to support skin healing.

First Week After Treatment

  1. Sun Protection:

    • Avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every morning, even indoors, and reapply throughout the day. Wear a wide-brimmed hat or protective clothing when outdoors.

  2. Do Not Pick or Scratch:

    • Treated skin may develop a “sandpaper” texture or flake as it heals. This is normal. Do not pick or peel the skin, as this can lead to scarring or pigmentation issues.

  3. No Heat or Sweating:

    • Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise for 3-5 days. Excessive heat can irritate the treated skin.

  4. Avoid Certain Products:

    • Do not use retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), or any other active ingredients until your provider advises it’s safe to resume.

Healing Expectations

  • Skin may feel tight, dry, or slightly rough as the healing process progresses. This is normal and temporary.

  • Full results may take 1-3 months to appear as collagen remodeling occurs.
